Two roads diverged in a wood, and I
I took the one less traveleld by,
And that has made all the difference

Intuition or the Art of Decision-Making.

Intuition.

That built-in detector that distinguishes truth from bullshit.

Almost impossible to explain.

That one moment, that split second, when you briefly see the right turn ahead of
you. Know very clearly whether to say yes or no. Whether you can trust something or someone. Or not.

That one moment, gone again before you know it.

Because your lightning-fast mind immediately jumps in. And bombards you with arguments, making you forget the spark before you even realised it had flared up for just a moment.

Better safe than sorry.

Right?

The strange thing is that you often only recognize the moment in hindsight.

‘I knew it’.

That's what you think after a disappointing outcome from a well-considered decision.

So catch the moment and listen.

Listening closely to something magical takes courage.

Especially if you're already allergic to that gut feeling.
That vague, woo-woo stuff.

You want to see facts. Proof.
You want to hear arguments. Pros and cons.

Of course. Because what you measure, you know.

That's what you thought.

Your intuition is often diametrically opposed to your rational mind.

Think of your rational mind as the road that’s already there.
The one hundreds, thousands before you have already travelled.

The main road.

The road to a decent life.

Comfortable. Clear. Straightforward.

No sleepless nights, looming bankruptcies,
shelves with no bread.

No, I don't mean that cynically.
This road has a lot to offer. Maybe a little old-school.

But a lot to offer.

Because, really, we need our reason. We need it too.
Just not always. Or right away. And not as the first thing.

Then there’s the other road:

Your road. My road.

You build it as you walk it.

A bit of the “what will my parents think” road.

Riverdeep. Mountainhigh.

Hope, excitement, tears, fulfillment. Lying awake.
Illogic. Eureka moments. Breaking through.

This path asks you to listen to your desires.
To look your fears straight in the eye. And to choose from within.

Gut feeling.

That’s your path, my path.

And taking that road will make all the difference.

Courage!
